It was so lovely to meet all the girls at Flagstaff. It was such a rewarding experience to give back and share my knowledge to such a bright bunch of girls. We had great discussions and I hope that they took away some tips in becoming more confident to improve their financial wellbeing.Melanie Ng
The recent Disability Royal Commission, independent research and Government reports indicate that many women living with disability are excluded from participating in decisions that affect their lives on a daily basis. They are often stereotyped as passive, dependent, compliant, powerless or insecure, lacking the confidence required to be secure in life and at work.
The Flagstaff Group is committed to breaking these stereotypes with its Powering Up program, providing information modules, online videos and face-to face workshops to help women gain knowledge and build confidence to live their best lives.
The program’s objectives are to:
- Improve women’s financial wellbeing and security to support diverse and flexible employment opportunities
- Promote and support a holistic approach to women’s immediate and long-term health
- Create a safe and secure environment for all aspects of work, life and play
